Duke's Office of Global Health and Safety (OGHS)

The Office of Global Health & Safety is a vital component of the Division of Experiential Education. We exist to support faculty, staff, and students engaged in off-campus programs and other forms of experiential education.

OGHS is dedicated to ensuring the health, safety, security, and preparedness of Duke programs and students in the field. Our mission is to assist in navigating Duke’s expectations, policies, and standards related to travel risk mitigation and emergency management. We assist with risk assessment of off-campus travel and provide emergency and logistical support for programs and students in the field.

In order to fulfill our mission, we partner with a variety of stakeholders across Duke to foster collaboration, information sharing, and a culture that promotes health and safety. Our goal is to provide the highest level of support and assistance to ensure that off-campus experiences run smoothly and safely.

We invite you to learn more about our services by scheduling a consultation. Contact us at oghs@duke.edu and let us show you how we can support your off-campus endeavors. With our expertise and resources, you can rest assured that your off-campus program will be safe, secure, and successful.
